think it's a deal with the devil when it comes to legislation. president obama gave him the opening. i think he made a huge mistake thursday by caving to the republicans, and giving junk insurance a new life in the affordable care act. it's going to be an extension. i think the president needs to stand firm on this. this is obama care, it's not clinton care. it's not reagan care. it's obama care. own it. he needs to remind everyone that this is the law of the land. we're not turning back. house and senate democrats need to stop worrying about the mid terms, and rally around this law, which is going to save american lives. well, president obama, i think, is giving the republicans an opportunity to get a bunch of bullet points and a narrative that will play all the way to the mid terms. for example, republican congressman fred upton, he's the new hero, proposing a bill on the house that takes the president's, quote, fix one step further. not only would junk insurance be extended, it's a trojan horse, but insurance companies would be allowed to sell new junk policies with things like life

in the house are expected to pass their own fix to obama care later today. late last night the white house issued a presidential veto threat to the bill calling it an act of sabotage. that's a sign of a president desperately trying to get back on offense. president obama's new message is he likes his health care plan for the nation and is going to fight to keep it. >> there's no question the rollout on the affordable care act was much tougher than we expected, but i want everybody here to understand, i am going to see this through. >> reporter: the new obama care fix leaves it up to insurance companies and states to decide whether to let consumers keep plans not in compliance with the law and forces carriers advise americans of the choices available under obama care. but the insurance industry worries the changes undermine the system. one source called the white house fix a total mess. washington state insurance commissioner balked altogether saying, we will stay the course and not be allowing insurance companies to extend their policies. >> that's on me. i mean, we fumbled the rollout on

referred to as obama care. the act gave this administration more than three years to implement, gave them virtually unlimited money, ensured them for all practical purposes they need not come back to congress ever again because it created an entitlement. one that raised its own money, spent its own money, created its own rules. the 2400 pages that were passed into law and read afterwards now represent tens of thousands of pages of regulations created by this administration based on how this administration wanted a law interpreted, meaning that legislation created three and a half years ago was still being written in late september. the cornerstone of the president's signature achievement included a website, healthcare.gov. this site and parallel sites created by some states, were supposed to make it easy to have an online marketplace. it was, in fact, an attempt to depp indicate what hundreds, perhaps thousands, of insurance companies large and small around america do well every day. on october 1st, president obama said, using it would be as easy as buying an airline ticket on kayak.com o
